Memorial Day Weekend

We are having a great Memorial Day weekend here in ABQ!

Yesterday I had my final photography class. It was studio time to learn more about light and how it effects the images in the photograph. I was asked to bring a model along and Sara was thrilled that I picked her. With a little help to keep her entertained, this is my favorite picture from the shoot!



Today we had planned on putting the pool in the backyard and splashing around all afternoon, but the clouds didn't leave ABQ until 3pm, so we decided it was a better day for a hike. We packed up the kids in the car and headed for the east mountains. A short hike to the travertine falls was a perfect first hike for Will. We placed a few pictures in the May album, so be sure to take a look!

Will Crawling

As many of you have probably heard, Will is crawling all over the place now. Since not everybody has been able to see it on Skype yet, we thought it would be a good idea to upload a video for everybody else to watch.

This video doesn't show him crawling for too long, but he has no problem getting anywhere on the first floor now. Gates have been put up.

Holland

The time has come...pictures of Holland! A few weeks ago I embarked on a 10 day trip with my mom and sisters to the Netherlands. We wanted to see the country that my mom's entire family came from...and it was beautiful! Our central location was Amsterdam, but we took various day trips to see what other gems the country had in store for us. It was a trip of a life time and I hope you enjoy the photos. I did cut the number down from the 1200 that were taken. If you want to see more, let me know and we'll plan some time to go through them. I tried to tell a bit of the story within the photo comments, so hopefully that helps! Thanks to my in-laws for helping watch the kids while I was away...they had a fantastic time!

Birthday/Mother's Day Weekend

If you are here looking for pictures from Holland, you will have to wait a few more days...the discs are in the mail! Until then, here are some pictures from May. We had a birthday party for Sara yesterday with family and a few friends. She wanted a Minnie's Bow-tique themed party, so there was a lot of pink and polka dots! Today is Mother's Day and I've been enjoying it with Owen and the kids! Sara wanted to try out her new skates and we took a trip to the park to fly a kite. What a fun day! Tomorrow Sara turns 4 and I'm sure we will do something exciting to celebrate, so check back again to see if we post more pictures from that adventure! Happy Mother's Day to all you Moms reading!

April and Other Pictures

Since it's getting close to the end of the month, we thought we should put up pictures from April. Here they are.

Since there are not many in there so far, I thought I would also point out the new links in the sidebar. First off is an album of pictures that Sara has taken using the camera she got for Christmas. Those are the clear ones. You can only imagine what the rejected pictures look like. Also over there are links to view all the pictures Laura and I have published on Instagram. This way you can check them out even if you don't have the app on your phone.

Make sure to keep checking those links in the future, as we plan on adding to those albums as pictures accumulate.

March

I'm sure you are thinking that this has not been the best start to the 2013 blog. The January album didn't show up until February. February didn't show up the end of the month and March is on a similar track. I guess all I can say is that we have been having a lot of fun and here are the latest pictures to prove it! Enjoy!

Happy New Year!

I just realized that we haven't put a post on the blog since the start of the new year, so happy new year to all those who read this! It has been a busy year since our last post...Owen turned 32 in January, Will was baptized the first weekend in February, and this past week we celebrated Valentines day! There are plenty of pictures for you to feel like you are sharing in all the festivities with us (and thank you to all those who did!).

Visit with Santa

The kids have been lucky to build a relationship with Santa at our church. He sits in the pew behind us, wears a red shirt, and hands out candy canes to the children in the parish at the end of mass each week. During the Christmas season he tries on his suit to see if it needs any last minute adjustments from Mrs. Claus and welcomes the kids in the area to sit on his lap for a few pictures. Even though Sara sees Santa at church each weekend, she was giddy to see him all dressed up in his suit. It was wonderful to see the magic in her eyes. Last year she asked him for a candy cane because that is what he always gave her at church. This year she branched out and asked him for a purple rock for her collection. We placed a few pictures in our December album for you to enjoy.

Also, I finished my final sewing project for the season. Of course I got the inspiration on pinterest, and I hope Will enjoys his new giraffe rattle!

Jelly Roll

Santa's helper just finished the jelly roll floor cushion for Sara today. A picture of her present is in the pinterest album...so excited about all the great ideas on Pinterest!

St. Nick's Day

Yesterday was St. Nick's Day and all of us were good throughout the year, so a few treats were left in our stockings to enjoy. Sara had so much fun with her treasures that she decided they would be best displayed on the Christmas tree so the lights would highlight their beauty. I thought everyone would enjoy a picture of these additions to our tree...
