Apparently today we had a lot of messy food on the menu. The double chocolate muffins this morning for breakfast (see picture on previous post) and tonight was spaghetti. I guess it is a two bath kind of day!

Double Chocolate Muffins
I love that chocolate cake can be called breakfast if you bake it in a 'muffin' tin...I think Sara does too!

Flower Cookies
We were down to a few bites of chocolate in the house, so I decided it was time to make cookies. Sara decided we needed to make the flower cookies with M&M's from in her princess cookbook. Since I was in the mood to bake, we improvised and made our own version of the flower cookies. The process took over 24 hours to complete, but I think they turned out pretty sweet. After lunch today, I enjoyed a cookie or two and Sara decided she wanted chocolate...I will never understand that girl!

Hosting July's Dinner Club
A few months back, a friend started a dinner club for the ladies. Each month is at a different member's house and they choose the theme. We have had Greek, Italian, and French nights so far. I decided to go a little different and made the theme 'brinner' = breakfast for dinner! I think it was a success! I didn't take any pictures during the night, but got one of the table before everyone showed up...enjoy!

Pinterest Party
We have been busy updating the kid's rooms this summer...furniture needed to be rearranged and paint needed touching up. With these changes also came a few DIY projects which came from a favorite website, pinterest! As the projects are completed, I'll continue to post to this album and take a few shots when the rooms are complete.

Trip to Santa Fe
We picked the one day with rain to head to Santa Fe, but we had a good time splashing through the puddles and finding new places to visit for our next trip. Hope you enjoy the few pictures we were able to take between rain drops!

Happy 4th!
We have had a great 4th of July so far. Sara enjoyed her first parade in the morning, and swam like a fish in the afternoon. We are having a little down time inside while mother nature passes through ABQ and plan to enjoy a few fireworks this evening with family and friends. Hope everyone is having a safe and enjoyable Independence Day!

Sara's Surgery
Just before our trip to the Midwest, we had an initial consult with an orthopedic surgeon about Sara's thumbs that didn't straighten. Upon looking at her thumbs for just seconds, the surgeon told us Sara had Trigger Thumbs. If they were not fixed, Sara would begin to hyper-extend her thumbs to make up for the lack of mobility in the joint and the only solution was surgery. The procedure was scheduled for today and Sara did great (not so sure about Mommy)! She had the "Anastasia" socks on (our niece Katie got a pair of socks to keep her warm while she was under anesthesia during a procedure she had a few years back and thought Grammy had called them "Anastasia" socks...the term stuck) and "Lamby" in her arms, she was set! She is doing great now and tomorrow we will change her bandage and see how things look for the first time.
Midwest Visit
We just got home from a week and a half vacation in the Midwest. In route to our first stop, we had a 5 hour layover in Minneapolis. Not fun for a 30-year-old, wait I mean 3-year-old, so we detoured to the Mall of America to enjoy the afternoon. We had a lot of fun and it was just enough time to see everything of interest to Sara and make it back to MSP in time for our connecting flight to Wisconsin. We spent a few days at a cottage in the north woods with the Weilands. It was nice to spend time together with the whole family and to finally meet Bennett and Sophie! The next stop in our tour of the Midwest brought us to Michigan where we spent the remainder of the trip visiting the Yaklins. We were happy to see many of the extended family members and even took a trip to the lake! We had a great time with both families and made some wonderful memories!

Family Fun in the Sun
We had the day to play! So, we started at the zoo...this time we were able to see a few more animals than just the peacocks. After Sara's nap, we were able to head down to the park for a little splash time. It was the perfect activity for this 100 degree day. Hope you enjoy the pictures of our day in the June album!
