September Update

Sorry it has been a while since our last post, we have been a little busy trying to work out a new routine for the four of us...still a work in progress, but we are getting closer.  Have no fear, we have taken lots of pictures during this time, so you will have lots to look at.

First (only because it would be looked over once I post pictures of the kids) is my latest pinterest project.  Sara was in charge of snacks this past Thursday at school, so with a little help, we sent her off to class with a butterfly themed snack pack (they are currently learning about the letter B, so I thought it was only fitting).  Aren't they cute?!!

Alright, now for what everyone really wants to see...

There are 3 photo albums we have been adding pictures to this month.  One has pictures from our hospital visit when Will was born (we linked to this album earlier in the month).  The second album contains the other pictures we have taken in September.  Keep checking back at this album during the week for other pictures we might take.  Finally the third album contains pictures from various 'photo shoots' we have conducted this past week.  I have posted a few highlights below.  Hope everyone enjoys!

Will and Sara

We just now realized that we haven't posted the important stats on our new addition, so here we go:

Name: William Charles Yaklin, but he prefers to be called Will.
Birth date: September 9th, 2012 at 1:28 AM.
Weight: 6 pounds, 1 ounce
Length: 19 inches
Head circumference: 13 inches

Now that we have that, here's the reason I started this post in the first place, we have a video showing Will's first meeting with his big sister. Sara loves him immediately:

Pictures of the Baby

We were able to upload some pictures from last night. Here they are, keep checking back as we add to them. Mom and baby are doing well, most likely will be released tomorrow.

New Addition

We have a new addition to the family, born at 1:28 AM Sunday morning. We'll have a name for him when we figure it out.

He weighed 6 pounds, 1 ounce and was 19 inches long.

We will upload some better photos later Sunday, but here's one for now.

The Color Run

Another race for Owen this summer, this time one with a little color...The Color Run! It was a 5K through the streets of downtown ABQ. Over 6,000 people participated and no one was safe from the sprays of color...good thing Sara and I left our whites at home!

First day of school!

Sara had her first day of school today. She was excited to meet everyone and asked a few kids on the way in if they would be her friend...melt my heart! I fought back a few tears as I said good-bye. Luckily I ran into a friend dropping her daughter off as well, so I pulled it together and had a nice morning running errands. Sara seemed to have a great day and I hope to hear more about it after her much needed nap!

Visit from Grammy

My mom (aka Grammy) came for a visit this past week. The doctor she works for was on vacation, so she took advantage of the time off and took a trip herself! We had a busy week...Sara's open house at her preschool (she starts tomorrow, so check back soon for 1st day of school pictures), my doctor's appointment (I started weekly visits to the doctor, complete with ultrasound, non-stress test, and doctor check-up...thank goodness Sara is starting school, she would not enjoy these 2-hour visits!), projects in the baby's room (check out the pinterest album for project updates), and lots of fun! It was a nice visit before the baby comes...thanks Mom!

Spaghetti Dinner

Apparently today we had a lot of messy food on the menu. The double chocolate muffins this morning for breakfast (see picture on previous post) and tonight was spaghetti. I guess it is a two bath kind of day!

Double Chocolate Muffins

I love that chocolate cake can be called breakfast if you bake it in a 'muffin' tin...I think Sara does too!

Flower Cookies

We were down to a few bites of chocolate in the house, so I decided it was time to make cookies. Sara decided we needed to make the flower cookies with M&M's from in her princess cookbook. Since I was in the mood to bake, we improvised and made our own version of the flower cookies. The process took over 24 hours to complete, but I think they turned out pretty sweet. After lunch today, I enjoyed a cookie or two and Sara decided she wanted chocolate...I will never understand that girl!
